Welcome to Part 2 in my Workshop v2.0 upgrade series! Today I’m finishing off the temporary partition walls by cladding them in MDF. MDF is strong, easy to paint, offers great sound and heat insulation and is easy to attach stuff to.

Now that all of the sheet material has arrived I can finally plough on and finish the MDF walls in the workshop! 18mm panels were used for the ‘garage’ side. These were leveled up and fitted all the way down the space and around the doorway. I rounded over the corner near the doorway using a palm router to leave a nice finish.
On the inside of the workshop space I fitted slab insulation between all of the panels. I then fitted the 12mm MDF panels on the workshop side. I didn’t really need 18mm on both sides and the 12mm is much easier to work with. Turbogold woodscrews were used to hold all of the MDF in place. Plywood was used on the furthest back section of wall, just to match what was already in place.
