Making a Simple Coat Hook Rack

In this video I show you how I’m making a simple coat hook rack with hidden fixings. This is just a row of 6 hooks attached to a backing board which is then fixed to the wall. The fixings are hidden by two of the hooks.

I made the backing board from 18mm whitewood, cut to the correct size and the edges chamfered using my palm router. It was given a light sanding prior to painting. I used water based acrylic primer undercoat and gloss prior to fitting the hooks. I carefully measured out the spacing for the hooks and then attached them with woodscrews. The wall fittings were hidden behind two of the hooks to give a nice neat finish.
